Domestic violence is a gimmick

The Boston Globe reports:
"There are a lot of women who use (domestic violence) as a gimmick in divorce proceedings," Selectman Crow Dickinson said in explaining his vote. "All they have to do is call the police and get the person thrown out. If I call the police and say you're abusing me, they'd have to believe me. I wish people would split up and be more polite about it." ...

"I think comments like that are blatantly based on Neanderthal thinking," she said. "I think it's a shame our legislators don't understand the value of a program such as Starting Point."
He understands the value, and he is correct. Note that his opponents cannot refute him; they just call him a Neanderthal instead.

You guys are idiots. Just because someone uses false claims of doemstic violence to gain an advantage in a dissolution doesn't mean that domestic violence "is a gimmick" . Like always you sieze on one aspect of something to turn the whole concept on its head to support your jaundiced views and bolster your self image as a victim.

I think the thing we need to look for is GASP!!!! evidence. If a Woman is in the midst of a nasty divorce and calls the Police (who are trained to be the Knight in Shining armor, I've seen the training videos, trust me) and has zero evidence of physical harm, I do not believe her testimony alone should be concrete evidence into the matter. Some reports state over 50% for false rape claims and far higher for false DV accusations. Honestly, ask yourself if you know someone who has done this or mentioned it? I know of 3 who intentionally got their man thrown in jail to gain leverage for a failed relationship. Also, look at the Duke 3 case. Everyone speaks of the crooked DA, and poor detective work etc. However, it was the woman at the hospital who was a staunch, hardcore feminist who swore without a doubt that Mangum was raped (when she wasn't). She was trained to think all men were rapist and all women who made the accusation were telling the truth. And yes, when women do use it to gain an advantage in a dissolution IT does mean it's a gimmick.
